All About Our Melamine
We have been asked a few times why we use melamine, and what melamine actually is. So here is the answer.
Melamine is a great heat resistant, durable and easily moulded plastic, (that’s the quick answer). More in-depth, melamine is an organic compound made by mixing strengthening materials with the melamine resin. Melamine is not only heat resistant but can be washed in the dishwasher and will dry faster than normal dishes because of its ability to retain heat.
The truth is, this is the best product to print on to with the best results because of the high quality of the plastic its self and the fact it can be made in a variety of different colours. It holds high-resolution images and designs and with the products it’s moulded in to it makes sense for them to be durable. For example with trays, spoons rests, chopping boards and children’s plates to name just a few, these things would be useless if they were made of fragile materials.

Us and the melamine artists
As you may well know, but for those who don’t, we work very closely with our melamine artists and love turning their art into real tangible melamine products. With help from our trusty friend melamine, we are able to do that easily with a high-quality finish.
We work with over 13 artists with more joining all the time. All of these artists have one or more ranges of products with different designs, that’s why we are able to offer a huge variety of different products that all of our customers have been delighted with.
We also like to work with more specific artists, some of them being schools that have a massive collection of children’s artwork that we then print on plates, trays or any of our quality melamine products that they can then take home and keep forever as a reminder of their exquisite talent. As well as working closely with artists, schools and businesses we offer a unique bespoke melamine service in which we print your own personal designs our a range of our products.
